Mike, Owner and Skipper
Raised in Peru and the Far East, educated in Yorkshire and Durham University, Mike moved to live in Spain in 2001. A former director of First Choice (Holidays), and owner of his own mail order company in the UK, Mike is a keen skier, natural winemaker and ex-marathon runner.
Lucy, Crew and Catering Manager
Primary school teacher and caterer, Lucy runs, cycles, skis, climbs, lifts weights and generally gets stuck into everything onboard. She prepares the delicious food in our Marina kitchen, and gives all onboard an encouraging word and a ready smile!
Dan, Skipper
Originally from London, Dan moved to southern Spain and now has a permanent tan! Friendly, witty with a dry sense of humour, but always professional, Dan is always trying to give up smoking, so hide your pack whilst you are onboard!
Lucia, Skipper, Office, Kitchen
Local girl Lucia originally hails from the Czech Republic and speaks more languages than there are days in the week. You will find her big welcoming smile in the office, in the galley, or at the helm!
Alexandra, Office and Crew
From France, Alexandra speaks almost every language invented, and bring years of sailing and hosting experience for you to tap into. She´s also pretty handy in the office!
Flip and Flop, our resident dolphins
The chances are always good that you may see Flip and his partner Flop somewhere out on the water, often seen with the rest of their bottle-nosed gang stealing the fish out of the trawler’s nets. When the skipper yells “dolphins at 11 o’clock” don’t check your watches……..grab your camera!
Ian, Skipper
Ian hails from Almerimar Marina, where he grew up with his Spanish mum and South African dad, who both work in sailmaking and uphostery. He joined us fresh from obtaining his Yachtmaster qualification in 2024 and now also sails the world´s oceans in the off-season delivering yachts. http://www.iantheskipper.es
Danka (Bohdana), Skipper
Our resident proud and defiant Ukrainian female skipper, (former Ukrainian Sailing Champion), Danka is now a hugely experienced and qualified Ocean Yachtmaster, who is planning soon to sail around the world singlehanded, by the tempestuous Southern Ocean route! JJ, Crew
JJ, real name Juanjo, hails from Buenos Aires in Argentina. A very valuable member of our crew for many years now, JJ is an expert on local history, so, if you don’t want to know, don’t ask! Also pretty useful at keeping your glasses topped up and at proudly wearing any clothing found onboard the next day!
Mateusz, Skipper
Mat was brought up locally from a Polish sailing father and French mother (Alexandra, who also works with us!). He recently qualified as a Yachtmaster and already has several seasons with us under his belt. Fluent in English, French, Polish and Spanish.
Eve, Crew
Eve is a local girl who was born and brought up in Almuñecar, just across the bay. She speaks fluent English and Spanish, and is always ready and willing to muck in with all aspects of looking after you to make sure you have the best time whilst sailing with us!
Maisy, Office and Crew
Young Maisy has followed in her older brother Tom´s footsteps (who, after 4 years with us from the age of 16 was last heard of crossing the Atlantic!) and she spent S2025 with us learning the ropes. We look forward to having her back this summer after she finishes school (!) and running our social media campaigns as well as spreading her cheerfulness both around the office and aboard our yachts.
